- The Healing Environment.
Meant works with the Institute of Clinical Leadership (Warwick Medical School), the University of Birmingham and the School of the Built Environment at Oxford Brookes University, and regularly participates in conferences and seminars about clinical leadership, service change, personal development, healthcare design and environment.
Why Meant?
Meant's philosophy is to add meaning to process, thinking and outcome, as reflected in its strapline 'Involve, Develop, Improve'. Too often we look to develop, improve and invest - and involve other people in the planning associated with those activities - without really thinking about our reasons for doing it. Development is worth nothing unless it is developmeant(improvemeant, involvemeant, etc.); real and lasting change rather than transitory achievement.
Meant believes that the collective intellect of and joint working between professionals and non-professionals, service users and the public can bring about real and lasting change for the better in response to government policy, patient expectation and societal change. Whilst it is recognised that 'only wet babies like change', change is inevitable and the challenge is to make it as meaningful as possible. Meant is about sharing learning and insight to create opportunities rather than simply to solve problems, as part of emerging and evolving leadership.
